Enough is Enough – Pymmes Park Unity Rally
Hundreds of youngsters and community leaders marched through Edmonton recently to protest against knife and gun crime shouting the mantra “enough is enough.”
Organised by Mumpreneur Hazel Williams through her anti-knife crime group the Nelson Williams Foundation, the march kick-started from Pymmes Park, which attracted scores of youngsters from the Craig Park and Croylands youth centres and ended at the Artzone in Edmonton Green Shopping Centre where various workshops for parents and teenagers were available to help tackle gang crime.
A successful day, which attracted the likes of TV star actor Wil Johnson from Walking The Dead and comedian and actress Judith Jacobs, troopers on the community peace rally hoped that the march demonstrated their stance against the postcode war that has blight their area and taken the lives of many youngsters.
Speaking to Nelson, who is a proud mother of seven boys, she told Osworld’s Urban World: “Enough is enough! We as parents can no longer stand around and watch our children dying. In order to not be a part of the problem, we have to be a part of the solution. As long as I have my health I will continue to advocate to youngster that they must stop killing each other and concentrate on having a bright, positive future.”
